Paul Newman

From AP

Legendary, driven, and genuine, Paul Newman died today of cancer at the age of 93. Beyond his acting career, Newman was an entreprenuer, a racing fanatic, and deeply committed to his wife of 50 years, Joanne Woodward.

It's estimated that Newman's Own brand netted $200 million in charitable donations over the years.

The estimated 200 million in donations could have been a lot more, had he not been a supporter of convicted cop-killer Wesley Cook (aka Mumia Abu-Jamal). The National Fraternal Order of Police has had a boycott out on all of his products for years, which many Police Officers and other members of various organized labor groups have patricipated in.

That's disappointing. Thanks for the info.

Newman was 83, not 93 as per the AP story.

Loved 2 of his movies, "Hombre", and "Cool Hand Luke". I think the boycott failed, first I ever heard of it.
