Gallop: Congressional Races Suddenly Competitive

There's more evidence of a strong shift to Republicans since the conventions. Gallup is reporting the gap between Democrats and Republicans on a generic congressional ballot has closed to within 3 points with registered voters.

But once again, with likely voters, the GOP leads 50-45. Enthusiasm from Republican voters is also up.

Intrade is also showing a McCain lead; one he's held since 9-11-08.

The left thought this year was a done deal. But as we enter crunch time, Democrats are struggling to find there voice. They and their supporters, in full panic mode, are turning bitterly negative.

Historically, Americans are turned off by such desperate actions. So don't be surprised if the trends continue the GOP way.
