The Politics of Hate

A great article by James Kirchick at the New York Daily News about the politics of hate and who exactly holds a monopoly on the tactic.

Colin Powell stated he was disturbed by comments of some on the right about Obama's ties to terrorists and Muslims. But I have a question for Mr. Powell - Why can't we question the political and financial associations of a Presidential candidate? Is that not a critical question? What exactly is fair game sir?

As Kirchick correctly points out, given the past 8 years of Bush-bashing, the left simply has no reason to complain.
