It's Your Country too, Mr. President

Charles Krauthammer on Obama's G-20 summit.
Our president came bearing a basketful of mea culpas. With varying degrees of directness or obliqueness, Obama indicted his own people for arrogance, for dismissiveness and derisiveness, for genocide, for torture, for Hiroshima, for Guantanamo and for insufficient respect for the Muslim world.
What Obama and his supporters believe is that America has something to feel guilty about. They don't believe we have been the inspiration and envy of the world for over 2 centuries.

While he should be the biggest cheerleader for the country, Obama insists on being its biggest critic. And what does it give him? A cold shoulder, perhaps even a mocking laugh behind his back.

No wonder he feels compelled to bow before other leaders; he's willing to be their pawn.
